Shushybye Children’s Book and Dream Band CD Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Shushybye is a dream-based media brand for preschoolers with a national TV series on BabyFirstTV and Comcast Video On Demand.  Shushybye also has a series of bedtime story books, music CD’s, plush dolls, DVD’s from PBS Video and they also have some sleepwear.  Everything you need to get your preschooler off to bed!  The Shushybye Dream Band is also on tour.  Check out more information on their Live “Summer Dreamin’ ” Concert Tour featuring The Shushybyes continuing July 18 in New York!  Make sure to keep checking as there will be more concerts and cities announced soon!
In Shushybye, dreams are made for children by the Shushies.  In Shushybye, there are villages such as Nap Valley, Snore Shore, Slumber Heights, and Yawn Island.  At night when kids go to sleep, they send their dream wishes to the Shushies and then the Shushies make them come true after they receive them from the stars and delivered by the Shushybye Train.  The main character Shushies are Snoozles, Dozie, and Zeez and they are all friends having fun together and making dreams come true.  If you have never seen this show, you are missing out.  It’s really cute!
The Shushybye Company does a great job encouraging toddlers and preschoolers to look forward to bedtime!  I was given a wonderful opportunity to work the Shushybye Company on a review and was sent one their books, “Shushybye Sleepover Surprise” and a copy of their Shushybye Dream Band “Shushybye and Goodnight (The Deluxe Edition)” music CD for our use and review!

Along with this book, there is a read/sing along CD.  The words and music are written by the book’s author Stephen Syatt and narrated by official Sushybye storyteller, Kenny Curtis.  This red alond CD includes three original Shushybye hit songs featuring The Shushies.
Shushybye Sleepover Surprise starts out with twins Leo and Leona going to Grandma’s house for a sleepover.  Meanwhile in Shushybye, Dozie brought her friends Zeez and Snoozles some fresh baked cookies.  “You don’t need a special occasion to be nice to your friends!”  So Zeez and Snoozles wants to do something for Dozie in return.
Back at Grandma’s house, the kids were getting ready for bed making their Dream Wishes.  Leo wanted to dream about playing Sleepball with Snoozles and Leona’s wish was to dream about visiting Dozie.  Two stars heard their wishes and took them back to the Shushies.  After the dream wishes arrived in Shushybye, Snort and Wheez were taking the Dream Box to the Shushybye Train to be delivered to the Shushies.  Zeez and Snoozles decides to bring Leo and Leona to Shushybye so that they can take Dozie to see Rockin’ Shushy playing at the House of Snooze that night.  That way they can make their dream wishes come true and take their friend to the concert at the same time!
Using the Dream Wand, Zeez and Snoozles magically appears in Grandma’s house and invites the kids and Grandma to Shushybye!  They have all kinds of fun in Shushybye before bedtime!

Songs are performed by the Shushybye Dream Band featuring Michael North.  The music and lyrics are by Steve Syatt.  KOCH Records is also the home to The Wiggles, Barney, and Strawberry Shortcake!  What we love about the Shushybye and Goodnight music CD is that there are a lot of fun, cute, and did I say fun? songs to sing!  Both our kids like it especially our 4 year old son.  Another thing that I love about it as a parent is that the Shushybye Dream Band brings many different styles of music to my kids.  I think this is great because they get to learn about different genres of music such as pop, rock and roll, blues, jazz, rhythm and blues, latin, and country!

We don’t have a lot of trouble getting our 4 year old to sleep most of the time but we go through phases.  There may be a time that he doesn’t have a problem at all, then there are other times when we do for a time.  I think these songs and the book and the whole concept behind Shushybye is great!  I think it’s really fun when he goes to bed and tells me his own Dream Wish!  If you need help getting your toddler or preschooler off to bed, send them to bed with the Shushies!  They are really helpful and the books and music can be listened to or read at any time of the day to get your child actually looking forward to bedtime!

Another great thing about the storybook is that it has a safe, non-toxic, glow-in-the-dark cover!  How cool is that?!

The product was sent to me for free by the company for my use and review. I was not paid to write my review and my opinions are 100% my own.
