New From Halo – SwaddleChange – Swaddle Changing Pad Cover Review & #Giveaway

I love Halo products.  They have products such as sleep sacks, swaddles, and clothing and promote safe sleeping.  I was excited to recieve the opportunity to try out their NEW product, the SwaddleChange.  I remember when my kids were newborns and always hated diaper changes.  I never really thought about it then but part of it could be that when they are that small, they don’t like to be uncovered and all out in the open.  All three of my kids were swaddle babies big time.

Below is a little information about the SwaddleChange:

“Diaper changing can now be easier and less stressful for babies and parents alike. HALO Innovations is introducing the HALO® SwaddleChange™ a cuddly cover for the changing pad that features an attached, adjustable swaddle wrap to help keep baby comfortable and little hands under control when changing diapers.”

“Too often for parents, changing a baby’s diaper can cause baby to cry and fuss because they find it uncomfortable to be uncovered. The new HALO SwaddleChange swaddles and soothes babies for stress-free diaper changes and has already earned the PTPA (Parent Tested Parent Approved) Seal of Approval.”

“The new HALO® SwaddleChange™ swaddles and soothes babies for stress-free diaper changes.  The soft plush cover fits over the entire changing pad like most covers, with the addition of a sewn-in swaddle wrap that helps parents keep baby’s body under control while he’s lying down.   “We know how beneficial the Halo SleepSack Swaddle is as a soother when baby goes to sleep.  Now we are applying the same comforting concept to diaper change,” comments Bill Schmid, founder Halo Innovations.”

Available in colors Cream, Sage, Pink and Blue velboa fabric, the Swaddle Change fits most contoured changing pads (17” x 32” to 17” x 34”). The cover should always be used with the changing pad’s attached safety belt.

Part of my opinions and thoughts also come from my sister because I had given the SwaddleChange to her after I received it.  Since I am over there baby sitting often, I was able to form my own honest opinion after changing my nephew quite a few times.  Plus I also got her mom approval of the SwaddleChange too.  The SwaddleChange fits most contoured standard size changing pads (16″ x 34″).  First I have to comment on how soft the SwaddleChange is.  It’s really soft and my nephew approves!

He doesn’t like diaper changes either.  He’s only a few months old and as much as he hates his diaper being changed, he doesn’t like being uncovered and so of course whoever is changing him also has to contend with his flailing arms.  The SwaddleChange fit my sister’s changing pad really well.  The safety strap isn’t included but there are openings in the pad cover that accomodates most changing tables’ attached safety belt.  She didn’t have any problems getting to fit the saftey belt on her changing pad/table to work with the SwaddleChange.

The swaddle part is attached to the pad cover so there is never any worry about losing the swaddle or misplacing it.  Even though it is attached to the pad cover, this shouldn’t be used as a safety restraint.  The swaddle just wraps baby where his arms are so that diaper changes are easy to take care of.  It doesn’t get in the way of lifting baby’s legs to place a clean diaper underneath him or cleaning him.  My sister was aready using it before the next time I was over to site for him and she told me then that the SwaddleChange made diaper changing so much easier for her – and him.  I quickly understood why when I had to change him later.

The Swaddle stays together with velcro and is adjustable for when baby gets bigger.  It stays closed up really well too and it no matter how angry he might get for whatever reason, his arms stay in there really well.  Of course because of the SwaddleChange, there hasn’t been anything for him to get angry about.  I couldn’t believe how easy it was to change him.  I am serious.  Changing this boy was never easy.  Now he’s calm and happy because he is swaddled as he is getting his diaper changed.  No arms to contend with and diaper changes became and easy and quick thing to do.  It’s really wonderful when he “poos” while he is half asleep.  Now he can be changed without actually being woken up.  I just lay him down, swaddle him change him really quickly and then re-swaddle him with his receiving blanket when finished so he can finish his nap.  It is also machine washable with like colors and tumble dry on low heat.  I was informed that there hasn’t been any kind of shrinking or any other problems after it had been washed.

Check it out below:

I used to dread when he needed his diaper changed but now it’s not a problem.  I love seeing a happy, smiley boy instead of a screaming unhappy one.  Of course my sister tells me she absolutely LOVES it!  She says it made her life 100% easier and she’s glad he feels more comfortable too.  I would recommend the Halo SwaddleChange to anyone!  Great for newborn babies up to one year.
