Nellie’s All-Natural Baby Laundry Review #spon (From my September Daily Goodie Box)

*I received a free product(s) that are mentioned in this post from Daily Goodie Box. All opinions are 100% my own.*

This is a product that I received in my Daily Goodie Box back in September. It’s been a while since then but I wanted to take my time to get a good opinion about this product or I would have reviewed it a while ago. If you don’t know what Daily Goodie Box is, see the bottom of this review for more information.

About Nellie’s All-Natural Baby Laundry

“Nellie’s All-Natural Baby Laundry Soda is specially formulated to deal with baby’s unavoidable mishaps. We have added a concentration of sodium percarbonate for natural brightening as well as the addition of pure vegetable soap, so there is no need to add any additional whiteners or brighteners. Its stain fighting power is effective on cloth diapers and removes stubborn baby stains such as milk, baby formula and spit-up. The formula, derived from plant-based and mineral-based ingredients, is non-allergenic, gentle on baby skin and leaves no residue on fabric, no fragrance.”

HOW TO USE: Use one spoonful of Nellie’s All-Natural Laundry Soda for one regular sized load. Wash according to wash instructions on the garment. Always test garments that may fade or bleed.”

INGREDIENTS: Sodium Ash Light Carbonate, Lauryl Alcohol Ethoxylate 7 Mole, Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate, pure vegetable soap, Sodium Percarbonate.”

WHY POWDER? Liquid detergents are made up from at least 50% water. At Nellie’s we don’t think selling you water and moving water around the planet is a very good idea. The fact is, more cleaning power can be packed into a smaller space using powder.”

This detergent is formulated for baby clothes but it does not have to be used only for baby clothes. It’s biodegradable, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, gluten free, no SLS or SLES, no GMO’s and it is septic safe. It also has an oxygen booster. I haven’t had a baby in the house for a long time so I am not sure how well it cleans diapers, formula stain etc. but I do know that this detergent works really well at getting my older son’s clothes clean.

We have to watch what kind of detergents we use for our son’s clothes. His skin is sensitive to strong scents and has allergic reactions to some detergent formulas. We stick to “free and clear” detergent formulas when washing his clothes.

Nellie’s is a powder formula. I typically use a liquid formula because anytime I use a powder I tend to have some residue left after the wash. Nellie’s powder formula however, does not leave a residue after washing. I was really impressed with that. All it takes is one scoop which is included with the detergent. I was also surprised that all it took was one little scoop too. I started with this little pouch of detergent and when I first started using it, I was skeptical I was actually going to get 15 loads out of one small pouch. I did!

There’s no scent. Which is a good thing. I have been using this detergent for my son’s clothes as I mentioned and it doesn’t irritate his skin at all. I am pleased with how well his clothes get cleaned too. Things that I think are going to be stained come clean after the first wash. Even some of his whites and lighter colored clothes look a little brighter too.

I found that this detergent also works well with more delicate items as well. It always leaves clothes feeling really soft too and I really don’t think there is any reason to use a fabric softener while using this detergent. Overall, I have been really impressed with it!

Buy It: You can buy it on Nellie’s website for $15 for a 50 load package. While their, check out their other products as well. They also have a place where you can check their retailers and find a store near you.

  • […] Nellie’s – Baby Laundry Soda – I received a sample pouch of this laundry soap/detergent. It is a very generous size considering it contains 15 loads worth of laundry powder. It’s all natural which I absolutely love. “The formula, derived from plant-based and mineral-based ingredients, is non-allergenic, gentle on baby skin and leaves no residue on fabric, no fragrance.” I don’t have babies in my house any longer but I do have to watch what I use when washing my older son’s clothes because he’s allergic to a a few things found in detergents. I love using Nellie’s for his clothes. It works great getting his clothes clean and brighten his clothes as well without having to worry if he’s going to breakout. See My Full Review HERE. […]
