FAQs (These are questions that I have received from companies or PR representatives in the past)

Do you charge for review and or giveaway posts?

No, I do not charge to write a review or host a giveaway.  All I ask is to keep the product that I am reviewing.  A full size product will be sent for review so that I can fully test and try out the product for a thorough review of your product(s).

Can you use the product we send to you for review and use the same one to giveaway?

I cannot do that!  I am sorry to be so blunt, but I will not do that.  I will keep the product I am sent for review and I cannot and would not feel right hosting a giveaway for an item that has already been used.  A second new product or item will be sent to the giveaway winner.  There can be an exception for a giveaway from companies that offer refurbished products as long as it is disclosed in advance so that I can disclose that in the giveaway.   

Do you review products or items on a loner basis?

No.  I won’t review something that is on a loner basis because since I don’t charge for reviews, I feel keeping the product pays for itself when it comes to putting the work and time into my post and promoting your product.  I also do not feel comfortable using a product that I would have to send back because I do not want to be held responsible if something would happen to it.  I have three kids so it’s hard to tell what could happen!

Can I send you the giveaway item along with the review item for you to ship to the winner?

I won’t ship giveaway prizes to winners myself.  Giveaway prizes should be shipped to the winner directly so that I won’t have to be responsible for shipping costs or anything else that may happen during the shipping process. 

What kind of entries do you include in a giveaway?

All mandatory entries will be to ask them to visit your website and leave a comment on the giveaway post something about it like another product they like, etc. so that I know that they visited.  If you have another request for a mandatory entry, that can be discussed in advance.  I include entries to “like” a Facebook page but I will not ask entrants to write on your wall as it is against Facebook Rules and I don’t want to break them and have my own page taken down or account deleted.

“You must not condition registration or entry upon the user taking any action using any Facebook features or functionality other than liking a Page, checking in to a Place, or connecting to your app.  For example, you must not condition registration or entry upon the user liking a Wall post, or commenting or uploading a photo on a Wall.”

I will also include entries for becoming a Twitter follower, sharing the giveaway by writing their own blog post, or sharing on Twitter or FB.  I will also include email subscription,etc. but should be discussed in advance so that I know what to include in the giveaway rules and entries beforehand.

What if you don’t like our product or if there is a problem with it?

As I mentioned above, I will never write a negative review.  Everyone has thier own opinions about something and if there is something in particular that I don’t like about it, it probably won’t even be brought up in my review unless it’s necessary to be able to provide my full honest opinion.  If that’s the case, it will be a neutral thing about the particular “thing” about it.  For example:  “I prefer the lipgloss to look shinier but it still looks great!”  Something like that wouldn’t make me not like the product overall.  My reviews are always honest but they are always positive.

If I completely don’t like a product or there is a problem with a product (especially when defects happen from time to time), I won’t write it.  As mentioned above, I will contact you and explain the problem and go from there as to how to proceed.  I still have not ever had to do that to this day.

How do you choose winners?

I currently use  I put in the numbers 1 through XX entries and it chooses a random number which is how I figure out which comment entry is the winner.  I am hoping to switch to “and the winner is” (a wordpress plugin to choose winners) if I can get it to work right on my version of WordPress.

Why recommend a giveaway along with a review?

Including a giveaway helps drive traffic your way to your website, products, and any other pages or sites you have.  It gives you an opportunity to get exposure to your social media sites and gives me a chance to promote your products on my own social media sites and listing the giveaway on as many sites and blogs that I can giving them a lot more exposure.  Entrants even help exposure because of all the ways that they can enter by sharing the giveaway with thier own social media sites!

Can I get a list of the emails from all the entrants?

I will only provide a list of emails if it is discussed and disclosed in the very beginning before the giveaway is even posted.  I have a strong conviction to protect my readers’ and followers’ information.  I do not save their information and do not share any information except for the winner’s information that is required to receive thier giveaway prize.  This information is only given to the person of the company that I am in contact with.  If an email list is required for the giveaway, it must be disclosed before giveaway is posted so that I can disclose that in the giveaway rules so that entrants know a list will be sent before they enter.  If there is a request for a list after the giveaway is posted, I will not send a list and the giveaway will still run and giveaway prize will still be honored.
