Money Savvy Generation Money Savvy Pig Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

“Money Savvy Generation develops innovative products to help parents, educators and others teach kids the skills of basic personal finance. We strive to empower kids to take control of their financial lives and, in turn, their futures.”
Don’t you just love it that our kids just think we have all kinds of money?  “Mom, can I have this?” or “Mom, can I have that?”  They never quite seem to get that money doesn’t grow on trees.  This is where Money Savvy Generation products can be helpful.  I was fortunate to be able to work with Money Savvy Generation on a review.  We were sent their Money Savvy Pig for our use and review.  In just the short amount of time we have used it so far, it has helped and given our kids a sense of how money is important.
The Money Savvy Pig is a decent size piggy bank with four different sections.  The sections are labeled with Save, Spend, Donate, and Invest.  It’s also clear so that it is easy for my kids to see how much money they have saved inside of it.  They think it’s pretty cool and gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment that they have saved all that change.  There are also stickers that are included so that our kids can label their Money Savvy Pig to fit their needs.
There is still the certain toy or toys that they keep bugging us for.  The Money Savvy Pig has been helpful to get them to save their own money and has taught them how to use money a bit more wisely.  Come to think of it, even with all the change and money they have collected, they haven’t asked to spend it yet.  They like to watch their savings continue to grow!
The stickers can be used for something that they are wanting to save money for. Placing them on a section of the bank, keeps them reminded as a visual what they are saving money for.  I think the Money Savvy Pig is a great way to teach kids about money management and saving at an early age.  When they do go and buy that special toy or whatever it is they wanted, they know that they saved their money and bought it themselves.
You can also discuss charities with your kids and letting them choose a charity that they would like to save for is also another thing you can do with the Money Savvy Pig.  I believe this is a great way to get kids involved in the world around them and let them know that there are people – or animals out there that need help.  We have a couple charities that we donate to around Christmas time so both our kids willingly put a little of their money into the donation section each time they contribute to their Money Savvy Pig.
The different sections have there own slots and there own opening on the bottom.  This makes it easy to keep everything separate without all the money coming out of all the sections.  I really think that the Money Savvy Generation Money Savvy Pig is a great way to teach kids about money.  In my opinion, I think the earliest they start to learn, the better!  It teaches them responsibility at the same time!  Included with the Money Savvy Pig is a booklet with ideas and helpful tips!
Award Winning!
The product was sent to me for free by the company for my use and review. I was not paid to write my review and my opinions are 100% my own.
