Story Time Felts Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

I just love felt products and toys for my kids to play with.  These kinds of products allow kids to create their own story by playing with them.  Felt boards are also great in the classroom.  I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Story Time Felts on a review and I have to give them a big thanks!  We were sent the Bug Book Felt Activity Book for our use and review.  Like all Story Time Felt products, the Bug Book has a lot of different activities to promote all kinds of learning!
The Bug Book has five felt pages including a front porch, a garden, and the ground.  Each page has flaps that can be open to reveal bugs hiding behind them.  My son just loves this because he being a boy is very interested in bugs!  He thought the flaps were pretty cool and loved to see what kinds of bugs were hiding in the book.  The bugs are realistic looking which some of them kind of creep me out (I don’t like bugs) but I think this is great because he can learn exactly what they are and what they do.  At first, he just thought that was all too it but to his surprise, the pages are pockets for a lot of felt bug pieces!  There are 43 felt bugs that can be stuck to the felt pages of the book!
Included with the Bug Book is a booklet that has the identification of each of the bugs that are included.  I think this is just great.  There are 43 different bugs and a lot of facts to learn.  My son is 4 and has learned a lot about them and so has my 9 year old daughter.  What’s so great about this book is that it is perfect for both my older kids in spite of the age difference.  What makes the identification of the bugs so great is that you can use that to teach your kids to classify them by how many legs they have, which ones have wings, which ones can be harmful, etc.  With the booklet, there are even game ideas that you can play with them.  Of course, using the book to get you kids to make up there own story and place their buggy characters on the pages are fun too!  I love this because this gets them to use their imagination which is not a problem for my kids!
We have even used the Bug Pieces as counters.  It’s a great tool for counting and we have also used them for adding and subtracting with our son.  With our daughter’s disabilities, she is more of a visual learner and she is having problems with multiplication in the classroom.  We can use these even for multiplication!  For example, we can take 3 bugs with 4 legs is how many legs?  She also has a problem with word problems so we use these for practice.  We can write something down for her to figure out for herself.  The booklet gives and example like, There are two spiders, two caterpillars and a beetle.  How many bugs are there altogether?  We practice these with her and it seems to help.
This book is fun for our whole family.  We can all have fun together doing the different activities and it a lot of fun.  Story Time Felts has a lot of great products that are not only fun, but are a great learning tool at home and in the classroom!  You can buy their products un-assembled or buy them assembled for a little more on the price.  Even if you buy them un-assembled, it could be a fun project to do together with your kids!  We love Story Time Felts!
The product was sent to me for free by the company for my use and review. I was not paid to write my review and my opinions are 100% my own.
