I was given the opportunity to work with Lavera on a review and was sent a bottle of their Baby & Kinder organic/natural Sunscreen for our use and review. Not only does Lavera have sunblock and sunscreen, they also have other products as well using organic and natural ingredients. They also have products such as self tanners, organic cosmetics, anti-aging products, hair care, skin care for both men and women, and also skin care for children and babies.
Lavera was ranked #1 in 2008 in a study on safe cosmetics and was the first manufacturer to have 100% mineral based sun protection products. They also believe in providing products for sensitive skin and for those with allergies. Part of their mission is to provide 100% natural cosmetic products using plant based ingredients.
I received a bottle of Lavera Baby & Kinder Organic Sunscreen with SPF 20 (4.1 fl oz). It is a medium level of sun protection and is a 100% mineral product. It is also effective immediately after it is applied. This sunscreen was awarded Europe’s Best Natural Sunscreen. I am really big on smothering my kids with sunscreen or sunblock just to go play outside in the backyard for a little while. This sunscreen is great for slapping on to send them outside to play. I don’t let them play outside for large amounts of time at one time so this sunblock works perfectly for that.
I prefer to use something around SPF 45 when going swimming of if we are going to be out for long periods of time such as going to the zoo, etc. I did use it on our most recent zoo trip though because there wasn’t much sun that day at all and this sunscreen was plenty sufficient for the day. If our kids are wearing it at home in the backyard, I usually don’t have to reapply it because I only give them about an hour at a time outside. I will put more on them the next time they go out though. I was pretty happy about how well it absorbs into skin and how well it works. So far this summer, there haven’t been any sign of sunburn while using this sunscreen!
I love how well it goes on and I don’t have to rub it in too much. It doesn’t feel sticky or really that greasy and it dries pretty quick. The other thing that I love about it is that it has a pleasant smell to it in my opinion even though its all natural! It is formulated for baby and children and blocks UVA, UVB, and UVC rays with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. All ingredients are natural and are from a certified organic farm. It’s great to be able to protect my kids from the sun with products that are all natural!
