My kids love shoes. Maybe that get that from me? They get excited every time we take them to buy new shoes. We let them pick out the ones that they want. I think it’s a great thing to let them choose their own style. I was given a wonderful opportunity to work with U*Neaks on a review. What are U*Neaks you may ask? Well, U*Neaks are a unique kind of shoe for kids that lets them customize their look with their socks! For my review, I chose U*Neaks’ Gray/Yellow Boomerang shoes. I actually let our son choose since he was going to be the one wearing them.
How do you customize them? The look of the shoe in the above picture looks that way with the animals on the side because of the socks. There is a “window” on the outside side of both shoes. It’s a clear window that allows you to see the socks that your child is wearing. It’s not an actual hole so there isn’t any worry of your child’s feet getting wet or cold. U*Neaks offers a variety of socks that allows your child to change the look of his/her shoes just by wearing different socks! Along with the shoes, we also received four pairs of socks. U*Neaks offers their socks in crew and ankle style.
The great thing about U*Neaks socks are that they are double sided. Both sides of them have a different design on them. Depending on which foot you put them on, there are always two different ways you can wear them. Which makes two different design looks with you shoes! It’s almost like you have two pairs of socks in one! If our son wears his Sports/Emergency socks, he can either wear them so that the emergency vehicles are shown through his shoes or he can wear them to show the sports design. U*Neaks also offers Madagascar designs and one of the pairs that we received were a pair of Madagascar socks. He absolutely loves his shoes and his socks!

As soon as they arrived at our door, he wanted to put them on. He drove me crazy with the socks though. The socks that he wasn’t wearing, he kept carrying around the house. He made it clear which socks he was going to wear the next day and then the day after that! I thought it was actually kind of funny. The shoes are really easy for him to put on himself.
They velcro closed which is a good thing for him because he’s only four and still hasn’t figured out to tie laces yet. We have always bought him velcro or slip on shoes for now (eventually we will go to laces). He has always had a problem getting his shoes on himself even though they slip on or velcro. His other shoes that he has would bend in the back or something and he would get frustrated with them. He doesn’t have a problem putting on his shoes himself when he wears his U*Neaks because of the way they are designed.
He is also pretty tough on shoes and after he has been wearing his U*Neaks for some time now, they seem to be pretty durable. I don’t have any doubts that they will last a while which is good because I don’t know how many pairs this boy has gone through in the last year. They are comfortable, long lasting and the best of all, your child can customize them! U*Neaks truly are unique and fun to wear!
