Yummy Dough Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

The first time that I saw Yummy Dough, I was intrigued.  I thought it was a great idea for kids to bake their own creations by molding edible play dough!  I was given the opportunity to work with PlaSmart Inc. and they sent my family a box of Yummy Dough to try.  Our kids had a lot of fun with it!  Yummy Dough comes with 4 colors of dough (package of red, blue, green, and yellow), a syringe for measuring out the water, and an instruction sheet that also has some ideas for fun Yummy Dough creations.

Mixing the dough

Mixing the mix to make the dough wasn’t really hard but it’s probably not something you would want your child to do themselves because it is a little messy.  Mix each dough in their separate bowls.  Using the syringe, add exactly 20ml of water to the dough.  While mixing the dough, I thought there was going to be no way that the dough is going to mix with just that amount of water.  Don’t worry though because it’s definitely enough water!  The mixture is going to look crumbly until you start working the dough with your fingers or hands.
This was when I first started
I then started pressing the mixture with the spoon and soon it looked like this.  When it each color of dough reached this consistency, I started kneading it with my fingers and then picked it up to knead in my hands.
Then it looked like this
It took about 5 minutes per color so we had our dough ready within 15-20 minutes.

Get creative!

Our kids had a lot of fun with it and so did we.  We all thought it was fun to play with.  The dough had the perfect texture and it was kind of like modeling clay or play dough.  It wasn’t sticky at all and we didn’t have to add any extra water at all.  It does say that you can add just a little more water if the dough is too dry.  If you have to add more, I would add very little at a time.  It seems that the amount recommended was enough for our dough.  Yummy Dough can be eaten after your kids make their creations.  The dough can be eaten raw or baked.

Fun to play with

We had our kids make their creations on wax paper sheets and then moved the ones that we baked on a cookie sheet.  We use foil over our baking sheets and we sprayed them with cooking spray.  The dough was easy for them to mold with and they made quite a few different things.  Mommy and Daddy played too!  Like I said, it was really fun.  They were excited that they pretty much made thier own cookies and couldn’t wait to try them.

Fun to eat

The dough colors didn’t stain at all either which I was really impressed with!  Yummy Dough smells good too.  The dough smelled kind of like sugar cookies and it kind of tasted like sugar cookies too.  It tasted okay.  It wasn’t the greatest thing I have ever eaten but it wasn’t bad.  Our kids thought it was good!  I think Yummy Dough would also be great for your kids to make their own holiday cookies or even for Easter.  Of course, it’s fun for any time!

Here’s just some of what we made!
There is plenty of dough to make quite a few different things.  These are just some of what we made.  There were a few more.  We baked these ones and they usually take about 15-20 minutes depending on the thickness of them.  I thought it was great that after they were baked, the colors still looked pretty much the same!  Our kids love Yummy Dough and we all had a lot of fun with it!
