{Everything Summer} Episencial Baby Skincare Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Kim Walls is a mother, second generation skin care expert and an environmental advocate.  Her Episencial products are inspired by The World of Eric Carle which makes them look very baby/kid friendly packaging with artwork from Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Episencial products are manufactured with sustainable solar power, packaged with recycled materials, and are made with all natural and organic ingredients.
I was given a wonderful opportunity to work with Episencial on a review and was sent an Episencial Fun Summer Skincare Value Kit, which includes some great baby skincare products for our use and review.  After using these products I came to the conclusion that Episencial not only has great, cute kid friendly packaging, their products are absolutely amazing!
Included in the Episencial Fun Summer Skincare Value Kit includes a 4oz tube/bottle of Sunny Sunscreen with SPF 35, Protective Face Balm .75oz tube/bottle with SPF 6, and Soothing Cream .75oz tube/bottle.  Also included with the kit is a Very Hungry Caterpiller that your child can color in!
These products do not contain any chemicals making them safe for the most sensitive skin and are baby safe from the ages of 0 to 150!  They are also doctor recommended and immunity enhancing.  They are made with fruit juice extracts (no fragrances) which are great for the skin.  The bottles are also phthalate and BPA free.
The Sunny Sunscreen is made with organic green tea, shea butter, and zinc.  I was very surprised by how easy it was to rub onto my kids’ skin which to me is important.  A lot of sunscreen or sunblock that I have used (generally speaking) sometimes leaves skin feeling greasy or oily.  We didn’t have this problem with Episencial Sunny Sunscreen.  It’s also water resistant and can be used on the body and face.  I only re-applied it when I felt it was necessary or I just wanted to reassure myself that they were still protected.  I’m just finicky that way when it comes to the sun.  I thought it worked great protected all three of my kids when they were outside or in the pool.  None of them even showed a slight pink shade on their skin.  Not even our little man when we had him in the pool.
For added face protection, the Episencial Protective Face Balm is wonderful.  It can also be used for chapped skin and lips for relief and protection.  This too rubs into the skin really easy.  It’s made with organic coco butter, aloe, licorice, and zinc.  I think it’s a great added protection for the face since little noses and foreheads tend to get a lot more sun!  Episencial Soothing Cream is great to use after being in the sun all day.  Our 4 year old sometimes has problems with his skin getting dry when he is outside in the hot dry air.  I have used the Soothing Cream a few times on him which really does seem to relieve him of any discomfort.    It also works great if you do happen to get a little sun like myself.  I used it on my own skin and it really does help soothe.  It’s also great for eczema, itches, and bothered skin.  It’s made with organic jojo oil, neem, calendula, and probiotics.
They don’t smell like your typical sun care products.  They don’t have much of a smell but they do have kind of a fruity smell to them.  The scent doesn’t last long and when it’s there, it’s very light.  I like it though and I’m glad that they are fragrance free and feel that these are very safe products to use on all three of my kids.  Overall, this mom is very pleased with the performance from these products!
“Episencial Sunny Sunscreen was recently named one of the top sunscreens for safety and effectiveness by the Environmental Working Group – (Out of 500 sunscreens – only 39 were selected!) Sunny Sunscreen offers the safety of a chemical-free formula plus the added health benefits of top-quality skincare. According to the EWG’s database of ingredients for personal care products (, our all-natural formulas have among the highest safety ratings for ingredients that target sun damage and prevent sun-induced heat rash. For battling sun exposed skin, dehydration and oil-dry symptoms, Episencial Sunny Sunscreen (SPF 35) is the best defense for babies’ tender skin.”
