Pretend Play Kitchens Play Food Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Pretend Play Kitchens
Pretend Play Kitchens is a family-run business that offers everything your child needs for pretend kitchen play!  Not only does Pretend Play Kitchens wonderful play kitchens including Kidkraft kitchens, they offer great kitchen accessoy sets and play food!  I was given the wonderful opportunity to work with Pretend Play Kitchens on a review and we were sent one of their Melissa & Doug Play Food sets for our use and review.
We received their Melissa & Doug Food Groups set and our kids love playing with it.  It comes with four wooden crates to separate the foods into food groups that include dairy, produce, grains, and meats and fish.  There are 21 pieces of play food and everything is made of wood which makes them very durable!
My kids love play food and everytime we buy it, they never last long which is why I love Melissa & Doug.  There aren’t any plastic pieces or cardboard pieces in this set of food that can easily be smashed.  The pieces are painted glossy and have a coating to prtoect them from getting scratched.  We still haven’t had any pieces of food that have gotten scratched up.  My son loves making a hamburger from the hamburger patty and the bun because the hamburger bun is halved so he can build a sndwich from it!  There are two slices of bread which I think is absolutely adorable and they can be used the same way.
The egg that is included also comes in halves to.  The milk carton and the butter doesn’t come open either because they are made of wood like everything else.  Like I said, there aren’t any carboard boxes so they last!  My kids enjoy “serving” or “making” their food and they even like to “shop” loading up their crates with the food they “buy”!  They really enjoy it.
Not only is the Melissa & Doug Play Food Groups set is fun to play with, I think it’s a great teaching tool.  Our daughter is 9 years old so she knows the basics when it comes to the different food groups but it is fun to teach our 4 year old son.  They both were confused about the egg because they didn’t really think it belonged with any group because they didn’t know that it belonged with the meat and fish group!  They thought this was pretty cool.
There are also some of the foods that our son didn’t recognize, such as the onion.  I think it’s a great tool to teach kids how to identify each food as well as categorize them into their food groups.  We have a lot of fun with it whether they are playing with it or they are learning from it.  The set is very durable, long lasting, educational, and really fun to play with.  It comes with a great variety of food so pretend play is really fun!
Age recommendations are 3 years and older.
This is a Tomoson review.  Product was sent to me for free by Pretend Play Kitchens for my use and review.  I was not paid to write my review and any thoughts and opinions expressed in my review are 100% my own.
