{Holiday Gift Guide} Bakugan Dragonoid Colossus Review

My son has started getting into Bakugan already which isn’t anything new to me.  He gets into that one thing every once in a while and the new thing is Bakugan.  The Bakugan Dragonoid Colossus and the Dharak Colossus is the newest hot toy this year from the Bakugan collection from SpinMaster.  They came out on store shelves this year in early October and apparently where we live, they are hard to find in stores right now.

We were given the opportunity to work with SpinMaster on a review and were sent a Bakugan Dragonoid Colossus for review and my son about flipped when it arrived at the door!

The Dragonoid Colossus is pretty big and is atually a lot of fun.  Even I like to play with it!  It comes with 4 Bakugan Battle Gear, 1 Bakugan, 1 Transformation Hub, 4 Ability Cards and 1 Gate Card.  Now I know that there is a game that you play with Bakugan but I don’t know much about it.  My son just likes playing with his Bakugan and since he is only 4 1/2 years old, hasn’t really got into the card game.  All I know is (at least from what I read) is that each player uses 3 of thier Bakugan and they roll them across the cards hoping to land on a Gate Card.  Bakugan are action figures that form a ball or sphere and open up into an action figure.
Anyway, onto the Dragonoid Colossus.  It’s very easy to transform and when I say easy, I mean easy!  All my son has to do is snap on the four battle gear to the transformation hub (the base part of the Dragonoid which is the biggest part) then you drop in the Bakugan in the middle and then the Dragonoid Colossus transforms automatically into this huge thing that my son absolutely loves!
If you have any other Battle Gear, you can use them as well so you can create your own look to the Dragonoid Colossus.  He has also used his other Bakugan with it as well.  I have included a video below just to show you the size, how easy it is to transform and how the Dragonoid Colossus seems to come alive all on it’s own.

Our son will be 5 years old in February and he hasn’t had any problems playing with it at all.  It’s made really well considering it’s a transforming toy and haven’t had any problems with parts coming off.  He really loves how it automatically transforms because it’s like having an animated toy!  Like I said, it’s really neat and my son thinks it’s the “coolest toy ever!”  He will literally sit there and play with it and watch it transform itself for a couple hours at a time.  I’m actually hoping he stays into Bakugan for a while because I think all those toys are pretty good quality and made really well.  They are fun to play with and collect at the same time and the Bakugan Dragonoid Colossus is a fabulous addition to the ones he already has!

Buy It:  You can buy the Bakugan Dragonoid Colossus at most retailers that sell Bakugan toys.  The list price for the Bakugan Dragonoid Colossus is around $40 but I have seen it online at Walmart and Toys R Us for around $30 so you can find a pretty good deal on it!

Age recommendation is for ages 5 years and older

You can find out more by visiting Bakugan website and you can also find Bakugan on Facebook!

The product was sent to me for free by the company for my use and review. I was not paid to write my review and my opinions are 100% my own.

  1. I tried to win this for my nephew, but didn't win. I had never heard of Bakugan until I saw it on some blogs. Apparently, boys love it!
