{Holiday Gift Guide} ReUsies Sandwich/Snack Bags Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Our daughter packs her lunch for school every now and then and I don’t like to use plastic bags.  ReUsies are a great alternative to plastic bags because they can be used over and over again!  They are made with 100% cotton lined with leak resistant nylon and they close with velcro.  The velcro is great too because they stay closed really well.  ReUsies come in all kinds of really cute designs for adults and kids.  My daughter loves them.  She told me one day that the other kids at the table told her she had a “cool” lunch.  She loves the designs and of course she knows she is doing something great not using plastic bags.

I was given the opportunity to work with ReUsies on a review and was sent one of their Arrgghh! Snack bags and one of their Happies Sandwich bags and they are really cute!  I love the skulls and crossbones and the happy faces on the other.

These are just a few of the different designs and patterns that ReUsies have to offer.  They are all really cute!  Since my daughter likes being able to use them so much, I thought they would make a great stocking stuffer for kids to dress up their lunch!

They are really easy to use and you can easily slide in a sandwich and since they are leak resistant, you can even pack fresh fruit or veggies.  I found them to work great for fruits or veggies.  Of course when I pack them I try to get them as dry as possible.  I usually only pack things like baby carrots, celery sticks, grapes and things like that when it comes to fruits and veggies.  Our daughter likes tomato on her sandwiches too and we haven’t had a problem there either.
ReUsies are not completely air tight so if you are packing anything that can go stale quickly it is probably best to wait until morning to pack a lunch in them so that way there isn’t a problem when it comes to lunch time.  I actually tried this out myself at home and I found that anything packed in them in the morning is still good by lunchtime.
When I first received them, I notice that there was a velcro piece on the back of them too.  At first I wasn’t sure what that was for but that is there if you need to close it further so that you can fold the bag more and close it on the other side.  I thought this was really great because that way I didn’t have to worry if the bag was too big for something.  See the video below:

Cleaning them are really easy too.  There are actually three ways that you can wash them.  You can turn them inside out and wash them in the sink, wash them in the dishwasher, or even with your laundry!  If you do wash them in your dishwasher or with your laundry, it is recommended that they be washed by hand a few time first to prevent them from bleeding.  The velcro on the back is also there for if you wash them in the washing machine because after you turn them inside out, it is also recommended that you fasten the velro on the inside as well.  Below is a great video that shows you how to clean them:

We think ReUsies are great!  It’s so much better than wasting all those plastic bags and kids love them – I know mine does!  I think they would make a great gift or stocking stuffer for anyone that packs a lunch frequently.  They are so easy to use, keep food inside them, they don’t leak from anything we have put in them, and they are easy to clean!  I also think they can be easier to pack in a lunchbox than small containers.
