DustinNikki Mommy of Three has MOVED!

Wow, I am so glad that I was able to finish moving!  Updating my feed via feedburner gave me some problems but everything is good there.  I have my redirect in place so now my blogspot blog and everything posted there is redirected here.  My Google Friend Connect moved over and my readers/email subscribers moved over.  Now I’m just trying to figure out the Page Rank thing.  From what I have read at tons of places is that if your blog is redirected, your Page Rank should follow, however, at this point I don’t see it happening.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  Does it take a little while before Google Page Rank shows on my new domain with of course my Page Rank I had to begin with?

I’m really starting to like WordPress though!  One thing I miss about Blogspot is my dashboard because I could easily see new posts from the blogs I follow.  Oh well, I hope my move becomes as rewarding as a lot of people have said it would from what I have read everywhere!  I hope you like my new look, I kept my original header but the rest looks a little different.  I like it though because it looks so simple!

Welcome to my new site and I will be getting back to posting more giveaways very shortly!

  1. Congrats on the successful move to WP! I recently moved too, but not from Blogger. I was already using WP but I changed my blog title some months ago and wanted the url to match. I was ready for a new host too, so I bought a new domain name and had everything switched over. The new host did most of it for free, but I had to make a few of the updates myself. For me, everything is the same as it was before *except* that I lost my GFC following. I’m not sure how to fix that, but I put a new widget up for new followers.

Never having used Blogger myself, I can’t compare Blogger to WordPress. But, I think you will love WordPress! I see that you are using Atahualpa theme. I love that theme. I tried at least 100 themes before settling on Atahualpa. It is awesome! My blog designer now recommends it too. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you have any questions about WP plugins or anything, I’d be happy to try to answer them!

    Blessings,

    1. Thank you for the comment Cara! I’m really starting to like WordPress. I had the same issue with choosing the right theme to use myself and when I came across this one, I stuck with it. I’m just trying to figure out how to make a child theme though so I can update when theme updates are available so that I don’t have to redo any changes I have made to it. ๐Ÿ™‚

There is a way to take your GFC with you so you don’t have to start over with your following. Someone sent me this link:

I don’t think it would matter whether or not you came from blogger or just moving it to wordpress to wordpress. It’s a fairly simple guide and I didn’t have any problems and it worked out just fine. If you try it and have any questions, feel free to reply or send me an email danderson35 at columbus.rr dot com and I’ll be glad to see if I can explain anything if you have problems with it. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Nicole
