One thing that I try to do is get my kids to eat healthier snacks. Our older two kids aren’t the greatest fruit eaters which is weird because I love fruit. My littlest guy and I are really the only ones that eat any kind of fruit. Funky Monkey Snacks are freeze dried fruit pieces that are all natural. When I was given the opportunity to try them, I was thrilled and was hoping that my kids would love them – they do! We were sent a sampler pack that included 1 bag of each of their 7 flavors!
Each 1 ounce bag contains 3 servings of fruit. They are 100% natural and 100% real fruit – made with real fresh fruit pieces that are really good! They contain no no added colors, flavors, sugars, or preservatives which of course I love and they are also gluten-free! The seven flavors are Applemon, Bananamon, Carnaval Mix, JiveALime, MangOJ, Pink Pinapple, and Purple Funk.
The first time I opened one of the pouches, the wonderful fruity aroma was amazing! The Applemon snacks were one of my favorites. They were really like eating an apple. The fruit flavors are preserved really well and they taste like you are eating these fruits right from the produce stand. The crunchiness is what I really like about them. It’s like eating fruit in a whole new way and I was very impressed with how much my kids really liked them. They make the perfect replacement for other snacks that you pack in lunches and is a great alternative to cutting up fresh fruit hoping it lasts until lunchtime. Our son’s favorite was the Carnaval Mix. He loved the variety of the organic banana, pineapple, apple, and papaya and our daughter’s favorite was the MangOJ with mangos and orange juice.
Overall the flavors and the crunchiness of each one is absolutely amazing! Since my kids don’t eat much fruit, I thought they were a great way to add a serving of fruit in thier diets. Some of the different fruits were a little tangy to me (that’s how fresh they tasted) but overall they were really, really good!
