Blue Escapade 24 Fragrance from Krigler New York Review

I thought my husband’s choice of cologne or fragrance of choice (just one certain fragrance) over the last 10 years was awesome until I received an opportunity to review Krigler Blue Escapade 24.  It smells so good!  After checking out their website, I read their history and I’m a sucker for history so I’m going to add a little back story.  Albert Krigler went from Berlin to Russia for work in 1878 and a year later marries his wife and creates his first perfume.  In 1904, he opens his first fragrance house but then moves back to Berlin a year later and opens up at the Victoria Hotel in 1906, closes in Russia in 1907 and opens up in France in 1909.

In 1930, Krigler’s grand daughter marries an American and she starts selling fragrances in the Plaza Hotel in New York.  Due to World War II, Krigler loses it’s many clientele leaving them with only American clientele and are established as French-American company in 1940.  Krigler passed away in 1955 and then the company just stopped for a while until 1960 when Krigler’s great grand daughter carried on the family legacy mainly making custom made fragrances in the 70’s.  In 2008, Krigler re-opens in the Plaza Hotel in New York.

I just thought it was really interesting and you can read the timeline on thier website in more details.  I just love reading about a company’s history!  Anyway, now on to Krigler Blue Escapade 24.

“This light floral, woody fusion was created in 1924, inspired by a trip between Biarritz and San Sebastian—Napoleon Bonaparte’s holiday locale of choice. Arriving by boat, Albert Krigler was struck by the ocean’s aroma, muddled with the lush foliage on land as he approached the coast-line. Blue Escapade 24 features a fresh, breezy top with a lush fruity heart and a deep, woody base.  Top Notes: Grapefruit, Orange.  Heart Notes: Fig, Berries, Geranium leaves.  Base Notes: Cedar, Vetiver, Benzoin Resin.”

Even the fragrance itself has a history and I can tell you how good this stuff smells until I am blue in the face!  No pun intended!  The bottle is absolutely beautiful.  I love the ribbon accenting the bottle and the glass cap comes off revealing the spray pump.  The bottle comes in it’s own cylinder shaped gift box and the pump is really easy to use.  It doesn’t take much for this awesome fragrance to get your guy smelling great.  It’s not overpowering either but the scent will last all day without having to put it on again.

One night, my husband and I were relaxing on the couch watching a movie and I could still smell it on him even after he changed his shirt.  I thought I was in heaven with the lingering scent.  It washing out of clothing and it doesn’t stain or ruin clothing either.  It’s definitley a high quality fragrance and again, smells absolutely wonderful!  I can’t really explain what it smells like but I can easily imagine woods, gardens, and the ocean all at the same time.

Another thing that’s great about it is that my husband is sensitive to some fragrances which this is one that he is not sensitive too.  He loves the smell, and feeling refreshed without being irritated at all.  I can honestly say, this is now my favorite scent my husband wears now!
