“The World’s Most Advanced Yo-Yo”
My kids love playing with Yo-Yo’s and even I enjoy messing around with them. That’s all we ever played with as a kid and I’m glad the yo-yo is still around. I learned a few tricks myself from my brother when we were younger but some of them were a little difficult for me to do mainly because I couldn’t grip the yo-yo the right way.
I was thrilled when I was contacted by Aerobie to work with them on another review because their new AeroSpin Yo-Yo looked like it had a great design and is built to be able to do yo-yo tricks with it. It’s definitely easier to use! We were sent an AeroSpin Yo-Yo in blue (you can also purchase it in yellow and red) and we love it!
The reason I say it is really easy to use is because the gap is actually adjustable to work better with any tricks. It also had a rubber grip which makes it a lot easier to catch and throw and if it is coming back to your hand really fast or hard, it won’t hurt your hand like some other yo-yo’s can. It comes with the string already attached but included in the book of tricks that accompany the AeroSpin in it’s package, you will also find care instructions so that you know how to change the string if needed.
There are all kinds of tricks in the book with instructions on how to do them. Our 6 year old has matered the Power Throw and is working on learning the Sleeper. He’s almost there already. Sometimes the AeroSpin doesn’t want to sleep but if you adjust the gap, it fixes the problem. Our son’s issue is that he hasn’t quite figured out the hand position yet. Our 11 year old daughter has mastered those two tricks and has moved up to Walking The Dog. She can “walk the dog” but doesn’t realize she has to return the yo-yo to her hand before it stops spinning. She can “walk the dog” for about 20-30 seconds and it’s really need to watch.
There are more tricks to be learned like Rock the Baby, the Forward Pass, the Loop The Loop, Around the World, Breakaway and the Flying Trapeze. There are even more advanced tricks in the book as well and all the tricks are easy to learn with the illustrated instructions. I think it’s really great. The AeroSpin rarely has problems returning to the hand, the grip makes it really easy to catch and throw and the adjustable gap makes learing tricks a lot easier because it allows you to actually do each trick a bit easier so the string works the way it’s supposed to for each trick. We think it’s pretty awesome!
