December is here and it also means a new Ipsy bag! I received mine a couple days ago and after seeing some of the sneak peeks, I was looking forward to this one just as much as last month. This month is themed “Celebration!”. The bag that I got this month was a really cute black bag that zipped closed on the front rather than across the top. I love the red lining on the inside of it too. I received 5 products and 4 of the 5 products were full size! I got lashes that I could have gone without but it was still an awesome bag.
The only product that wasn’t a full size (at least I don’t think it was) was the eye shadow trio. The reason I say “I don’t think it was” is because I can’t find these trios being sold anywhere. Pop Beauty has a 10 color Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Palette. The three colors in my trio are three colors found in one of those palettes. I just did the math to get the value that I listed.
What was inside my December 2013 Ipsy Bag (Black bag with red lining)
- Pop Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Trio $7.20
- Be a Bombshell The One Stick (full) $16.00
- Nicka K New York Nail Color (full) $4.99
- Ardell Natural Lashes (full) $3.99
- J Cat Beauty Big Lip Pencil/Crayon (full) $3.99
Total Value of this month’s bag $36.17!
The Pop Beauty Eye Shadow Trio colors are really pretty, and pigmented really well. They are more of a shimmery shadow instead of matte colors. All three colors work perfectly together and blend well. The Be a Bombshell The One Stick is the BOMB! Absolutely love it. I don’t use it on my lips but works fabulously for blush and works great as eye shadow. It’s creamy and powdery at the same time.
Nicka K New York Nail Color so far appears to be awesome. I painted my nails using it after making my video that you can see below. So they haven’t been painted long but the color is gorgeous and vibrant, the polish dries quickly and even though it’s only been a couple days, they haven’t chipped or anything. I can’t say much more about that much of it because I haven’t been wearing it long. It does seem to cure pretty well though so we shall see. Maybe I will update in a few more days.
I don’t really have much to say about the Ardell Natural Lashes just yet. I haven’t used them yet and I’m not sure I will or not. It’s just that I have never used lashes before and I have always been kind of afraid to try them. I don’t know why. The J Cat Beauty Lip Pencil/Crayon is awesome too. I’m still not sure about the color that I received. I have always been afraid of red lip color but I have used it as a base color. I think it goes on creamy, it feels really hydrated and it doesn’t dry out my lips. Very easy to use. It’s not shear and it’s not glossy either. No shimmery look with it. That’s fine by me though because since I use it as a base color, I can add gloss over it.
Worth it? YES!
Once again, totally worth my $10. I have been an Ipsy subscriber for 4 months now and love it. I have been happy with each bag and they have all been valued at over $10 so in my opinion, it’s worth the money. The products that are sent to you are also selected and sent to you depending on your preferences with what is called IpsyMatch. This means that the products that you will receive, you will most likely get use out of them. If you sign up, you may be put on a waitlist (I was on the waitlist for no longer than 5 weeks) but you will NOT be charged until you come off and your subscription actually starts.
There’s also perks to being an Ipsy subscriber. I have actually connected with a few other “Ipsters” because of the way Ipsy website is designed. That’s always fun and it’s fun to see what looks others have come up with. Another awesome perk is earning Ipsy points. You can earn points for giving feedback on the products you receive each month and you can also earn points with a personal referral link. Once you earn enough points, you can choose a full size extra time. The selection one what you can choose varies and they change them every once in a while.
