Thanks to BzzAgent, my family received the opportunity to try some of Simple Truth Organics products for free for testing and review purposes. I was sent a BzzKit with a free bottle of Simple Truth Organics Ready to Drink Tea, a free Simple Truth Organics Chocolate Bar, free product coupon for a Simple Truth Organics Greek Yogurt, and a free product coupon for Simple Truth Organics Bread. All opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.
Also included in my kit were money saving coupons for each of the products that I could pass along to friends or other people that I talked to about these products and brand. Simple Truth is a Kroger (and affiliated stores) organics brand. Our local Kroger store has a whole organic section in the store where their Simple Truth products can be found. All in one area so it makes it easy to find what we are looking for. I also have to say that the prices on Simple Truth products aren’t bad considering they are organic products.
I’ll start with the yogurt. Simple Truth Organic Yogurt is good. It only has 130 calories and it is non-fat which is a plus. I like the fruit on the bottom, it mixes pretty well with the yogurt. I did noticed that the yogurt itself was a little “clumpy” though instead of creamy like some other yogurts. It could have just been the fruit though. The flavor that I tried was strawberry. I thought it tasted really good. The only issue that I have is that it has kind of a strange aftertaste. It wasn’t terrible or anything and it won’t keep me from buying it though. Overall, I thought it was pretty good.
I picked up a package of Simple Truth Organic Whole Wheat Sliced Bread. It is 100% whole wheat. I love this! The bread is soft but not too soft. I like the grains on the crust. It even looks pretty. I like to use it to make my turkey sandwiches and my kids love their grilled cheese made with it. The bread doesn’t tear or anything while using any kind of spreads either. It also toasts up nice too.
Mmmm! And I feel better too knowing they are eating 100% whole wheat!
Simple Truth Organic Chocolate Bar. What can I say? Hmm, it’s amazing and yummy and good and delicious….. I could keep going you know. I typically don’t like dark chocolate. I normally prefer milk chocolate. I have always been told that if you are going to eat chocolate, dark chocolate is better to eat. The bar that I received is Dark Chocolate with Quinoa. It’s a decent size bar (almost as big as two candy bars at the register). It’s definitely dark chocolate and tastes very much like dark chocolate. It’s good but I still prefer milk chocolate. If I want (actually need) a chocolate fix, I’ll break off 2 or 3 squares and I’m good. Since it’s dark chocolate, that’s all I need. The other wonderfully awesome thing about it is that it’s also crunchy! I know I said I prefer milk chocolate but I’ll definitely buy another one.
Simple Truth Organic Ready to Drink Tea is also really good. The flavor that I got was Unsweetened Lime Guayusa Tea. It’s also an energy beverage. I had never heard of Guayusa until I read about it on the bottle. It’s native Amazonian super leaf that has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee and it has no tannins so there is no need for sugar or artificial sweeteners. So there is no sugar or sweetener in this tea – at all. I wasn’t sure I would really like this tea because without sugar or sweetener, I was afraid the lime was going to be too much for me. This is one of those times where I will say, “never judge a book by it’s cover”. The tea is amazing. Great crisp tea flavor and it tastes SWEET! Without the unnecessary sugar or sweeteners, it still tastes sweet. And the lime is just a hint of flavor and doesn’t take over. No carbs, no sugar, no fat, no sodium, and ONLY 5 calories a bottle! I definitely had a little pep in my step after drinking it but not sure if it was because of all that, how great it tastes, or if it really did give me an energy boost. I just love it!
