Walmart Beauty Box – What I Recieved in Mine (Summer) 2015 #WalmartBeauty

walmart beauty box summer 2015

My new Walmart Beauty Box (Summer 2015) arrived last week!  This is a subscription through Walmart.  It’s $5.00 per box and that includes the shipping.  Technically the box is free, you are just paying a flat $5.00 for the shipping.  There are 4 boxes total per year – one box every three months and you only pay $5.00 every three months (when your next box ships).  Basically you get a new box per season, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  If you are not signed up, you can sign up HERE if you are interested.  If you sign up now, you might still be able to receive the Spring box.  If not, you will get the next box – but you won’t be charged until the next box is ready.

Shipping Schedule List

The last few boxes that I received, I found out that the products may vary because you are sent products based on your age from what I can tell.  If you are a subscriber or thinking about it and have seen other boxes, the products in mine may be slightly different than others’.  If you want more details about how this works, check out my previous blog post found HERE.  If you want to see what I got in my last beauty boxes, use the category tabs at the top of my page.  “Product Reviews and Giveaways” then “Wellness and Beauty” and scroll down to “Walmart Beauty Box”.

This is what was in my box.

  • You & I Perfume by One Direction (sample vial)
  • Jergens Natural Glow 3 day trial (3 sample packets)
  • Cosmetic Tools booklet with high value coupons
  • Dove Go Fresh Body Wash (travel) $.50
  • Neutrogena Cool Dry Sunscreen Lotion (travel) $.70
  • St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub (travel) $.60
  • Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Shampoo (travel) $.50
  • Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream for body, face, and hands (travel) $.55
  • NYC Liquid Lipshine (full size) $2.00

Approximate Value $5.00

I compared the full size values to the size of the deluxe samples (of course the full size value was easy) to come up with the approximate values.  I didn’t value the tiny samples.  I used for pricing.

Overall Opinion

First I want to say that I love this beauty box service from Walmart.  I have always gotten at least one full size product and the others are always generous deluxe samples (along with a few tiny sample) but it’s enough to try to see if I like the products first.  It’s only $5.00 once every three months so it’s really nothing to me really.  As mentioned earlier, the box is actually free, you are just paying the shipping.  Normally the total value of each box so far as been worth more than the $5.00 but this one was right at around $5.00.  At least I got my money’s worth AND this happened to be my favorite box so far.

About the products.  I have used the Dove body wash before and I really like it.  I actually got the same sample in my last box as well.  I do wish I got something different but oh well.  I have also used the Clear Scalp & Hair Shampoo which is also really good.  Every once in a while I deal with scalp issues in the Summer months like dry itchy scalp and a little dandruff and it takes care of it with just one shampoo a week with it.

The St. Ives Apricot Scrub is really nice.  It has a nice pleasant smell to it and cleans my face really well.  It doesn’t dry out my skin too much but I just use a facial moisturizer like I always do no matter what scrub or cleanser I use.  I have only used the Sport Sunscreen once or twice and was really happy about how quickly it absorbed.  It really doesn’t have much of a scent to it which is nice because I would rather not smell like a beach all day.  It doesn’t feel gross on my skin either.

I really love that You & I perfume.  I am a grown woman and I don’t even care that it’s by One Direction.  It smells so good.  It’s like a fruity-flowery smell and it’s light.  More fruity than flowery but it’s really pleasant.  Definitely something I can wear this summer.  The scent lasts a while without smelling kind of funky as the day goes on.  I actually went and bought a bottle of it after trying it.  The Nivea Moisturizing Crème is also pretty awesome.  You can buy this crème in a jar like the sample I received.  The sample looks to be about the quarter of the full size.  It’s great to use on hands, face and body.  I like to use it as a face moisturizer.  I think it moisturizes really well and I definitely like it.  Absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel sticky, oily or greasy.

And last but not least we have the NYC Liquid Lipshine.  I like it.  I won’t say it’s my favorite lip gloss but it’s still pretty good.  I like the shade that I received.  It’s a bit shear but has a good color.  The color is a little light but that’s fine.  Sometimes I just want a little color.  The shine is pretty good.  I have to re-apply every once in a while but I do that with just about any kind of lip gloss anyway.  It has a very slight shimmer to it which is nice.  It may not be my favorite but for the price, I will definitely buy some.

So that was my Summer Walmart Beauty box!  Now to wait to see what Fall brings!  See my unboxing video below!
