I am starting my 2016 Holiday Gift Guide. These products/items that I am listing here are products/items that I will be reviewing (and giving away) very soon. Some of them are products/items that my family has experience with and I may or may not have reviewed them on my blog previously. These are all items that my family or I have had experience with and think they would make great gifts. Some of them are also things that are on my kids’ wish list this year so they have some input with this guide as well. This guide will be a working progress over the next couple weeks. And don’t forget, some of them featured will be reviewed shortly with upcoming blog giveaways!
For kids – Gemmies (Make Crystal Creations) is for ages 6 years and older. This is a lot of fun and you can create a lot of different things such as animals with gems. They are easy to use and they look great when you are finished. I will have a lot more to say soon because this is an upcoming review and BLOG GIVEAWAY so stay tuned! See my full review HERE. Be sure to enter our blog giveaway HERE!!!
For kids – My boys love this! With Fright Factory they can make a bunch of gel bugs and creepy crawlies. We also found that they stick to windows much like window clings. They aren’t sticky to the touch, they end up feeling like rubbery insects. My boys love the creature creator. Like the previous item on my list, I will have a lot more to say about this later. This too will be an upcoming review and BLOG GIVEAWAY as well! See my full review HERE. Go enter our blog giveaway HERE!!!
For kids – The Strider Balance Bike is awesome! If you have never heard of a balance bike the first thing I would say to you was that because of this bike, both my boys learned to ride a typical pedal bike with no problems. The balance bike doesn’t have any pedals. That’s because all they are doing is learning balance and steering without the annoyance of pedals. There are other balance bikes out there but the reason I love this one is because it’s so durable. We have had ours for 5 or 6 years and it’s still just as durable and sturdy as the day we got it. Our older son (now 10) started on this bike when he was 4. When he was 5, he was riding his pedal bike with no problem the first time he tried with no training wheels. Our youngest son is now 7 but he got a pedal bike when he was about 6. When he got his pedal bike, the first thing he said was that he wanted the training wheels off before he would even ride it. We took them off and like his older brother, he took off pedaling and riding his bike without training wheels like he always knew how to do it! I previously wrote a review about this bike here on my blog a few years ago. If you want to check out my full review, you can see it HERE. Strider also has balance bike for older kids too and they are great for disabilities. Check out Strider’s website for more information.
For gamers and possibly the whole family. The NES Classic was just released a couple days ago. It comes with 30 pre-installed classic NES games. Games that include Super Mario Bros, Kirby, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Pac-Man and so many more. I loved these games when I was a kid. We had the first ever NES system and I would love to play these games again. The only difference is, now we won’t have to blow on those cartridges to get the games to work! When this was released, I was hoping to be able to get my hands on one but haven’t been able to yet. These will most likely be hard to get ahold of so I am hoping I can before Christmas. You can find out more info about it HERE.
For kids – I love iSeeMe children’s books. My kids love books and they love personalized gifts too. I love these books because your child can be put into the story. And not just their names either. Other members of the family can also be included. Our youngest son has a couple of these books and he loves them. They also have new books and gift sets that are available for the holidays. I have written a couple reviews on my blog in the past and you can check those reviews HERE if you like. I have written a review on “My Very Merry Christmas” in the past and would make a great gift. That review can be seen HERE. These books also make wonderful keepsakes to save for your kids even after they grow out of them. The stories are great and the illustrations in these books are fun and beautiful. I remember the first time our son got one of these books, his face just lit up because the main character was him! iSeeMe also has a discount offer now through November 21, 2016. You can get 25% off everything by using discount code: BUNDLE. Be sure to check out their bundle sets too! BLOG GIVEAWAY coming in a few days!
For her – if you are looking for cosmetics for holiday gifts, check out Maybelline SuperStay 24 Lipcolor. I absolutely love it! I am being completely serious when I say the color lasts all day without any transfer what-so-ever. I will have a lot more to say about them because I have an upcoming blog review.
I will update this post with the link shortly. See my full review HERE.
For her – Ipsy is a beauty subscription and you can pay once a month (flat $10) or you can pay for the whole year at once which is $110. Each month you get a beauty bag with 4-5 beauty products. I used to be a subscriber and I had always received 1-2 full size products. The rest of them were very generous deluxe samples. The only reason I cancelled was because I ended up having way too much make-up. Eventually I will probably re-subscribe. I thought I would add this to my list because I think highly of Ipsy and thought it would make a great gift. I have posted all my bags on here and you can check them out HERE if you want a better idea of how it all works. Since I am not a subscriber anymore, my referral link no longer works so you can just go to www.ipsy(dot)com.
For kids – Hatchimals. I’m not even sure I ever want to hear the name of these toys again. These are very hard to find. All three of my kids want one. They are round $60 each retail. I saw them a couple months ago at Walmart and they had plenty of them because nobody was buying them until it got closer to holiday shopping time. You might be able to find them from a third party seller if you can’t find one in the store. Beware though, I have seen them go for around $200 and this momma says no way! If this item is on your list this year, good luck!
For kids – My daughter is obsessed with Shopkins. But just the Shopkins. There are dolls and playset out there and there is also clothing and other merchandise out there featuring Shopkins. My daughter being 15 doesn’t care for the dolls, playsets or other things – she just likes collecting the little Shopkins. I am reminded of all those little Squinkies my kids had to have last year. As long as you don’t mind a bunch of tiny toys, I say go for it. For the most part, they are fairly inexpensive so that’s a big plus.
For kids – Anki Overdrive has been the one thing my boys have been asking for the most. Our kids never get everything they want but we do at least try to get them the one thing they really want. The track system is unique and the cars supposedly stay on the track. We found the starter pack at Toys R Us. They are pretty pricey at regular price $149 but when we went, they had it on sale $40 off. So we bought one – we lucked out because they only had 4 left in stock that day. This item is a lot easier to find then those Hatchimals or the NES Classic, that’s for sure!
This is my gift guide so far. I will add more over the next week or so.
