Wat-U-See Foods Popped ChickPeatos (Caramel Sea Salt) Review #spon #freesample

Recently I was introduced to Popped ChickPeatos through Daily Goodie Box. If you don’t know what that is, its a free sampling program. If you are interested, check out Daily Goodie Box website or check out my previous Daily Goodie Box Reviews and Box Posts. I received a free sample of the product mentioned in this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

I was really interested in trying these out when I found out that I was going to receive a sample of them. They are non GMO, certified gluten free, and certified vegan and only 100 calories per snack bag. Sounds good to me!

Not only are they a natural snack, the Wat-U-See brand is also a member of Feeding America which I think it really awesome. I was really interested in how these were going to taste because the sound of Baked Green Pea & Chickpea Puffs with a Caramel Sea Salt Flavor just sounds like a strange combination to me. I had to convince my son to try them after I did because he heard the word peas and he was like, “no way”. He likes other veggies but does not like peas.

I don’t like peas either but I was really surprised by the flavor. They don’t taste anything like peas. I mean, they have somewhat of a veggie flavor but peas or chickpeas just doesn’t stand out. They are sweet. The caramel flavor is amazing with the hint of sea salt makes them really good.

The puffs are soft puffs and easy to chew. The look of them kind of remind me of what croutons look like but they aren’t hard and crunchy like croutons are. After I tried them and my son smelled them (they smell sweet too) he finally tried them and found out he really liked them too! I like them right out of the bag but then I had an idea. I had fixed myself a salad for lunch. I really like croutons but I can’t eat them. They hurt my teeth.

So I decided to add some of these to my salad! They are a soft puff so I did have to eat them rather quickly so they didn’t get too soggy from the dressing but I thought they added something great to my salad. I had to look up where to buy them because I had never seen them in stores anywhere. Apparently I wasn’t looking hard enough because I found out they are available at Kroger so I went and bought some more!

Yum! Have you tried them before? What did you think?

Buy It: You can buy Popped ChickPeatos at Kroger or a few other stores. Check out their store locator on where to buy and check out their site for more information and other flavors they offer.
