Not too long ago I was contacted by a representative of ShopSvelte asking to partner with DustinNikki Mommy of Three. I was sent a free pair of Wide Leg Leggings (my choice of clothing) in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.
Svelte is a clothing line based in Canada with all kinds of different shapewear clothing. They offer clothing such as pants, jeans, denim, skirts, shorts, tanktops, and leggings. All of their items are shapewear. These garments are for everyday wear without the need of wearing shapewear underneath your clothing. When I was given the choice of what I wanted to review, I was excited. I saw the Wide Leg Leggings and knew I wanted to check them out.
About the Svelte Wide Leg Leggings
These leggings like all their other clothing items has a built in Ultra Comfortable Tummy Control Panel. These leggings give you a look of a flatter tummy, firmer bum, slimmer legs, and rolls control. They are made with a 4 way stretch spandex. I found them to be extremely comfortable to wear. They are soft and shape my silhouette nicely. I was really, really happy with them. I do wear shapewear sometimes but a lot of the time, those items can feel so restricting. The reason I was so impressed with these leggings is because I didn’t feel restricted but at the same time, it appeared to me that I was getting the same results that I was getting with the other shapewear camisoles I have been wearing under my shirts.
First I want to mention what appealed to me from the very beginning. I love the wide leg look. Most of my pants are wide legged because I really like that style. I do have a couple pair of skinny jeans and regular leggings that I like to wear with my boots but for the most part, I like the wide leg. That’s what drawn me to these leggings. I like the close fitting pant while still having that wide leg.
I am pretty happy with the wide leg in these leggings. I love the way they look and how they fit. They are definitely close fitting. In fact, they do feel like I am wearing a legging but they are a little loser from the knee down. Even though they are a little more lose from the knee down, they are still a great fit. I really like how they fit everywhere.
Okay, So now that I talked a bit about the look, let me tell you more about the fit. I want to start with the tummy panel. I am telling you, I love this panel. I was worried the panel would roll down but it doesn’t. At all. I have worn these legging a few times all day long and I have never experienced any problems with it rolling down. This is obviously a good thing. A very good thing. Because who want to wear something that rolls and ends up hurting? These leggings get an A+ in that department.
The other great thing is that they do not make me sweat. The panel can be pulled up far enough to cover my whole tummy. I worried that if most of my torso was covered, they would make me feel sweaty. Nope, not at all. I find the material not only really soft and comfortable, but also very breathable even though they feel thick. The material is a very good quality. I’m really glad about that too because I have some leggings that are just way too thin to even feel comfortable not wearing a long shirt with them.
I love how they shape my whole legs and make them look slimmer. I think they shape my curves in a way that I am happy with. My bum does look a firmer but if I have one complaint, it’s that I wish they were a little more bum lifting. But they do shape pretty well though so it’s not a huge complaint. I love wearing these legging with my sneakers and really love them with my classic Converse. They are a little long in the leg when wearing my sneakers though.
Here’s the other thing – these legging are versatile. Not only are they great for a casual look or great to wear for a walk or run, they are also great for any occasion. These don’t have to only be worn casually. Wear a nice top with a pair of boots. Wear strappies, it doesn’t matter. These leggings look great with about anything and you can create just about any kind of look for any occasion.
Washing and Care
To preserve their shape, color and prevent shrinking, only machine wash in cold water or you can hand wash them. It is recommended that they are not machine dried and are hung to dry. I have been washing mine in the washing machine with cold water only (I normally only use cold water anyway) and have not had any issues with shrinkage, color fading, or changing the fit. I always hang them to dry. I followed the recommendation to not machine dry them.
I absolutely LOVE these leggings! I will definitely be purchasing a couple of their other clothing items soon!
