Julep Cushion Complexion 5-in-1 Skin Perfecter with Turmeric
This product is designed to conceal, correct, illuminate, blur, and brighten with this multitasking stick. It is made with Turmeric for long term brightening and it has a natural demi-matte finish. It comes in many different shades and you can use multiple shades for your skin tone.
When you first use this product, you have to prime it. You prime it by twisting the bottom of the stick. You will hear it click. Most likely you will twist it many times. Once it’s primed, you will only need to twist once or twice each time you want more product to come out. But after it’s ready, the product will dispense onto the cushion applicator at the tip of the stick. It’s a liquid product. You can use the cushion applicator to blend the makeup, or you can dot it on your skin and use your fingers, brush, or sponge to blend the makeup.
I prefer to use my fingers or my makeup sponge personally. I noticed as I am dotting the product on my face, product sometimes continues to still dispense so to keep myself from putting more and more product on my face, I don’t normally use the cushion applicator on the stick. The main reason I don’t use the cushion tip for full makeup is because the cushion tip is pretty small to use for full makeup.
When I am out an about and look like I might need a touch up here or there, I will use the cushion applicator. As long as I don’t put too much pressure on the cushion tip, I can minimize the extra product. I love using the cushion tip for quick touch ups. It’s comfortable and the product is really great for on the go. They easily fit inside a purse too!
I suppose I’ll be brave and show you my war paint in the image above. There’s one shade that I like the use all over my face and I use it like a foundation. I do use a lightweight tinted primer first. After I dot my whole face, I blend it in. Once I am finished with that, I use a lighter shade for brightening and highlighting. After that’s blended out, I use the other shades for correcting and contouring.
Julep Cushion Complexion blends really well and really easily. It’s easy to apply. It does have a demi-matte finish. For the most part, it doesn’t make my face look that shiny but it does a little. I use my finishing powder to take care of that.
I just absolutely love it. The five shades I received; cashmere, sand, nude, beige, and camel are all perfect for my light to medium skin tones. Sometimes my skin tone changes too which makes these shades really great. I can’t believe how well these shades work with my skin tone no matter what. In my opinion I think this product works really well for concealing and brightening and I am pretty happy with the coverage.
I am also very happy that they feel lightweight. This product does not feel heavy even if I need to layer product to build coverage. I also think it looks natural. It doesn’t look like I am wearing makeup. It doesn’t build up in any lines or wrinkles or anything like that so it doesn’t look heavy at all.
With this product, I also don’t need a million different makeup products out all over my bathroom counter either. All I need is some eyeshadow, mascara, and my favorite lippie! It’s easy to clean off my face too. I use my cleansing facial wipes before washing my face and I don’t have any problems removing this makeup.
If you have never used Julep Cushion Complexion before, I definitely recommend it!
