I was recently asked if I would like to try Vida Soap and review them on my blog. Vida Soap is All Natural Handcrafted Soap and I was delighted to try them out. There are currently 6 different scents. The two that I tried was the Rosemary Mint and the Pink Grapefruit. All bars contain olive oil, coconut oil and palm oil. Each scent contains a variety of different essential oils, clays and other botanical ingredients depending on the scent.
“We make our soap using only the highest quality natural ingredients. Everything we use is always cruelty-free and ethically sourced. Our products are vegan, and handcrafted here in the United States.”
I love the packaging. The little boxes are super adorable. I will get back to the packaging in a little bit because there’s more to it. And it’s pretty cool so keep reading. First I want to start with the actual soap. On their website, you can read about each individual bar. Remember when I mentioned essential oils and other botanical ingredients and clays? The properties of the ingredients can actually help your skin and body in different ways.
I have done my research a while back on certain ingredients and essential oils. However, I don’t know what all of them can do for you. When I first started using the Rosemary Mint bar, I noticed that my breathing became a little easier. What I mean by that is that I had some allergy issues and a little cold going on at the time I started using this soap. I didn’t think anything of it at first but then when I read more on their website, I saw that Rosemary can actually help in this area. The Mint helps in the same area but also aids in muscle pain. Which was pretty cool because if I happen to feel a little achy, I feel a little better after I shower. The Mint in this bar can also be helpful to headaches and I love the slight cool touch on my skin while using this bar.
I have always known that Pink Grapefruit can help with acne problems. It fights acne and also fights bacteria and oils which causes acne. I have a couple favorite face washes that contain pink grapefruit for this reason. This bar also contains rose clay which draws out impurities and works as a mild defoliator. I have used this bar in the shower a couple times but I have been using this bar mainly to wash my face. I find it easier to rinse off my skin than I do my face cleanser and I like the results I get just as much while using this bar. I was concerned it would dry my face out since it is bar soap but it hasn’t done that at all.
I am really thrilled about this packaging! It’s biodegradable which is awesome because less waste is always awesome. You know what else is awesome?! The packaging is infused with wildflower seeds! I love it, love it, love it. We have this big hill in the back of our house that we let grow wild. By doing this, we actually reduce the amount of bugs and insects that end up in our yard. Which is pretty nice because who likes a buggy yard? Every spring the kids and I make “wildflower bombs” and throw them up the hill and we also end up with wildflowers for the bees. There are also a few areas around the yard where we have wildflower patches that we purposely grow. I love that I can take this packaging and “plant” it in our wildflower areas. I think it’s an amazing idea by Vida Soap.
Overall I love these soaps. I love what these soaps can do for me and what they have done for me. They lather pretty well which is really nice. The soap also rinses off really well. When I rinse the soap I don’t feel any kind of residue whats-so-ever. My skin actually feels squeaky clean – literally. The scent of them both where amazing. They weren’t overpowering. They were really nice and refreshing. The scent is more noticeable while using the soap. The scents to also linger a little on the skin after use as a light refreshing scent.
The bars seem to last slightly longer than any other store bought soap. Not much longer but I am happy they at least last as long and my bars didn’t get used up too fast. As long as you rinse the bar and let sit in a dry area, the bar will dry completely. This is another thing that I love about them. When they are allowed to dry properly, they don’t remain soggy or end up feeling a little gooey like other soaps might do. These bars dry really well.
I love how the soap feels on my skin. They don’t dry my skin out at all. I was actually really impressed at how how they moisturized my skin. They are really hydrating. I absolutely loved them!
Buy It: Make sure to check out the Vida Soap website. You can purchase bars for $8.00 each and there are 6 different scents. I also saw an area on the site where you can customize too.
