My youngest loves this Wee Believers Woodland Lacing Kit! A while back I was contacted by WeeBelievers inquiring about a product review collaboration with DustinNikki Mommy of Three. Recently they sent me a few products for us to try out and review. I was so excited – and so were my kids! First, if you have never heard of WeeBelievers, they are a company that offers Christian and Catholic toys, games and other products for kids and baby. If you are looking for toys that are inspirational make sure to check them out! The first item I am reviewing is the Woodland Creatures Place and Lace Kit.
Woodland Creatures Collection
Their Woodland Creatures collection features a variety of toys and products that include this kit, coloring kits, magnet kits and a few more different kinds of toys including adorable plushies. The collection is all about protecting and respecting wildlife creatures. On the back of the box, there is a story poem talking about all of God’s creatures and how they need to be protected and respected. Including their habitats. It also talks about littering and protecting not only the animals, but also the environment.
The Place and Lace Kit
The kit come in a really durable box that opens up like a book. It also has an elastic band to keep the box closed up when not in use so nothing spills out of it. It includes four habitat boards and four different animals. And it also includes four different colored lacing cords.
First you have to match up the animals with their habitats. You can match them up visually because the backgrounds on the animal pieces actually match up to the background on the habitat cards. On the back of each animal piece, there is a little short poem story about the animal and you also get to learn the animal’s name. There are also clues in these little stories too about which habitat card belongs to them.
After you match them up, then you can lace them onto the cards!
The lacing cords are much like a corded shoelace and they are easy to lace with. The age recommendations are for ages 3 years and older. My youngest is 8 but he still loves this kit. I figured he would get bored with it but nope. He removes the laces and starts over. I also have two nephews that are three years and four years old. They play with this kit when they come over too. My three year old nephew needed a little help with lining up the holes but he got the hang of it pretty quick.
I think this lacing kit is really great for hand-eye coordination and motor skills. It’s also a fun way to teach younger kids how to lace and at the same time they learn about taking care of the wildlife – animals and the environment. I found it to also be inspirational too.
I love how durable the box is. The cards and animal pieces are really sturdy and I love the artwork on these pieces. It’s absolutely adorable! The lacing cords are pretty durable too. They have been used about a million and a half times and they don’t show a single sign of fraying. We absolutely love this kit!
