TeaBloom Flowering Tea & Glass Blue Rainbow Teapot Kettle Review

*I received product mentioned in this post for free in exchange for my review and feedback. All opinions are 100% my own.*

Have you ever heard of TeaBloom flowering blooming tea? Or blooming tea at all? Honestly I had never heard of anything like it until recently when I was asked if I would like to try it. I was sent a Blue Rainbow Teapot Kettle Set in exchange for my honest review. The set included a glass teapot kettle and two blooming teas. One of the teas was blueberry and the other was acai berry.

About the Blooming Tea

TeaBloom blooming tea is handcrafted, sewn and carefully crafted into these tea balls. Some of them are even shaped like hearts! As the tea ball steeps, it unwraps and literally blooms into a flower right in your teapot. How cool is that?! There are many different flowers depending on the tea flavor as well. That way you see a different flower bloom in your teapot. Don’t worry. The tea flowers are edible so they are perfectly safe in your teapot. Once the flower blooms and has steeped for your preferred time, pour yourself a cup of tea. It’s delicious tea too!

TeaBloom Blue Rainbow Glass Teapot Kettle

The glass teapot is safe to use on the stove top. It’s a small teapot and it’s super cute. I love the curved handle and the shape of it makes it so easy to carry and pour tea from it. The spout is short which makes the design of the teapot kettle that much cuter. I am now reminded of a song… “I’m a little teapot short and stout. Here is my handle, here is my spout…”. The lid on top is also really adorable! It has a blue ball on top of it that makes it easy to remove.

The water doesn’t seem to take to long to reach boiling. The teapot can make about (4) 8 oz cups of tea. It is also dishwasher safe on the top shelf. I have never put mine in the dishwasher though. Because of the handle, it doesn’t fit very well in the top shelf. But that’s okay because there are certain things that I would rather hand wash. And my cute little teapot is one of them.

Time for the Magic to Happen!

Once the water in the teapot reaches boiling, remove it from the burner. Then all you have to do is remove your tea ball from the packet it comes in. Next, you drop it in your teapot. Now the magic happens! As soon as you drop in your tea ball, it will start to unwrap itself. It starts kind of slowly at first. It is so much fun to sit and watch the flower open up and bloom. I was actually pretty entranced the first time I watched it. It takes about 4 to 5 minutes for the tea flower to completely bloom.

You should steep your tea flower for 5 to 10 minutes depending on your taste preferences.

Tea Flower

The picture above is showing what my Blueberry Green Tea flower looked like. Pretty isn’t it? I think it makes for a nice conversation piece when having company over. Once you are finished steeping your tea, you can pour yourself a cup with the flower still inside. You do not need to remove it. At least not at first. However, the longer it stays in there, it will change how your tea tastes. I prefer to steep mine for at least 10 minutes but sometimes I will let it go for 15. It depends on the tea flavor.

This teapot also included a metal strainer that can be inserted in the spout. The strainer was already inserted in mine when I took it out of the box. It is removable but I decided to leave it in place. Sometimes while the tea flower is steeping, little bits of tea leaves might fall loose. The strainer prevents them from getting in my cup. I also love that it has a strainer built in because I can also make loose leaf tea easier. Instead of using a loose leaf diffuser, I can just add loose leaf tea directly in my teapot. When I pour a cup, I don’t end up with loose tea leaves in my cup.

The Tea

Oh my goodness this tea tastes so good! I didn’t have to add any sweetener or anything to my blueberry or acai berry tea at all. Absolutely nothing. The flavor was perfect. The flavor of the blueberry tea was my favorite of the two. There wasn’t a really strong blueberry flavor which I prefer but it was very pleasantly noticeable. It was the same with the acai berry too. I just prefer blueberry.

Not only was the tea flavorful, it was also very smooth. It had just the right amount of it’s own sweetness. I am really thankful for that because I really don’t like adding sweeteners to my tea. The aroma. Where do I even start? The aroma is amazing.

Yes, I realize that it is July and I am drinking from a Christmas mug. I can’t help it. It’s my favorite cup to drink my tea from.

I have certain cups I use for coffee, and certain cups I use for tea.

Final thoughts…

I love it.  Plain and simple. I love it, love it, love it. First of all, the teapot is super cute. I don’t think I have ever seen a more adorable teapot. I love that it’s glass. You don’t see very many glass teapot kettles. Ones that are even stove top safe for that matter. The shape of the teapot allows for an amazing panoramic view of the tea flower inside it. It’s just beautiful.

As I mentioned, the tea tastes great. And I have to say, these tea flowers tastes better than any brewed tea I have ever made. That’s one of the reasons I like loose leaf tea. I would rather steep than brew. Honestly guys, the best tea ever.

There are also health benefits to using tea flowers. Different flowers help in different ways such as maintaining blood pressure. Or aiding in bad breath. Even relaxing the brain. Rose is helpful to your skin. And yes, TeaBloom even has blooming tea that contains a blooming rose! Overall I think TeaBloom is amazing!

I will have a video and will add it as soon as I get it uploaded!

  1. I have seen these a few places but they still amaze me. This is so beautifula nd as someone who drinks tea every single day I really liek the idea of using this pot. I might have to suck it up and get one.

  2. The flower looks beautiful. I would like to have one of these too. It is relaxing even by just looking at it.

  3. I love the tea pot but it might now survive around my household of klutzes! LOL I would have to check with my transplant doc about specific teas — I already checked on the ones in my cabinets. Things interact with my anti-rejection meds so I always have to check. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I’ve heard so much about these blooming teas but never got to try them yet! I love trying new tea flavors though and who could say no to that Instagram-worthy teapot? haha

    1. It is a pretty teapot huh?! I love it. So far the flavors of blooming teas I have tried (at least from TeaBloom) were blueberry and acai berry. Both of them were really good! I did like the blueberry better though. I just bought a variety of their fruity flavors to try. I am looking forward to seeing how peach tastes. I definitely recommend trying it!

  5. I have definitely ALWAYS wanted to try one of these pots! They’re so pretty! Right now it’s just WAY TOO HOT in LA to think about hot tea, but come winter time, I may invest and HOPE no one breaks it!

    1. I love my pot! It’s dishwasher safe but I hand wash it myself just in case because I don’t want mine to break either! We have had some really hot days here too. I’ll most likely get more use out of mine in the winter months also. Nothing like cuddling up with a blanket, a book and a good cup of hot tea. Weather permitting of course. 🙂

  6. Oh my goodness – it does look so good. I think I’d steep mine for 15 minutes. I love the way it looks and I imagine the way it tastes. Plus anything that helps with blood pressure and bad breath is a tea flower I want to try in my kettle!

    1. Steeping 15 minutes is how I usually go. It depends on the flavor. I don’t usually go less than 10 minutes though. Something that helps with blood pressure and bad breath is always a good thing in my book for sure! Flowering tea really does taste great. I have been missing out!
