EarthKind Stay Away Spiders is fantastic! If you have never heard of EarthKind pest control products before, you should definitely look into them. I love their Stay Away pouch products. They also have a really great mosquito and bug repellent spray too. We used EarthKind Stay Away Mosquitoes quite often over the summer. The best part? There aren’t any harmful chemicals and they are all plant-based!
Stay Away Pouches
The EarthKind Stay Away Spiders contain plant ingredients that are fast acting. Which means that they start working immediately. The plant ingredients include rosemary oil, lemongrass oil, citronella oil, corn cob, almond oil, & sunflower oil. They are also eco-friendly and biodegradable. When you are ready to throw them away, remove the staples in the cardboard label on the pouch. Then recycle the cardboard and dump the contents into your compost. I love it because it’s less waste!
EarthKind Stay Away Spiders does not contain poison. I love this about their products because it makes them safe to use in the house. As much as I despise spiders, I would rather not kill them. I just want them to stay away. Besides, with my totally irrational fear of spiders, I couldn’t get close to kill them even if I wanted to. And then of course if I smacked on with my shoe and missed, it would probably come after me in my sleep to get it’s revenge. See? Irrational.
I may not like spiders, but they do actually serve multiple purposes. I doesn’t make sense to actually kill them. My husband usually traps them and throws them outside unless we come across big ones. Then he gets a bit freaked out. Because we live out in the country, we tend to get a lot of them coming in our house to say hello. Now that it is Fall, the frequency of spiders has increased as it does every Fall.
Where to place them?
So where should you place your EarthKind Stay Away Spiders? Simply place them where you don’t want spiders entering. If you have an area with a lot of spiders, you should place 1 pouch per 25 sq feet where spiders and spider webs are present. If you are just placing them for spider prevention rather than an infestation, you can place 1 pouch per 125 sq feet.
We usually have spiders in our bathroom. They like to hang out in my bathtub or shower. I have to give my shower a good look over before I will even get in it. Our bathroom is pretty small. It’s probably only about 50 sq feet. I just keep 1 pouch in my bathroom underneath the cabinets on the floor. I don’t want to keep it near the bathtub because with as messy as my kids are, it would probably get soaked pretty quickly.
Even though the pouch isn’t near my bathtub/shower where spiders like to hang out, I haven’t seen one in my shower since I have been using them. In fact, there hasn’t been a single spider seen in my bathroom period.
Other places to put them
I don’t bother with the bigger rooms in our house. We have a rather large living room. I am more concerned with closets and our basement door. So I have another pouch in one of my closets. My family keeps their shoes, jackets and coats in that closet so we are always getting in and out of it. I haven’t seen any spiders in there either since I put a pouch in that closet. Since they work so well, I need to get some more. I need to keep one near by bed and another near our basement door!
How long do they last?
Each EarthKind Stay Away Spiders pouch lasts for 30 days or until the scent dissipates. However, you can some EarthKind Pouch Pods and they will last 3 times as long. The Pouch Pods look really cute and stylish too!
I am pretty pleased with EarthKind Stay Away Spiders. It has a scent that is pleasant for humans but apparently not very pleasant to spiders. They are safe to use, no bad chemicals, plant-based, and eco-friendly. Best of all – they really work!
