Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games from Super Impulse Review

Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games

Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games are really cool! These mini arcade games are designed to resemble those game machines you see in the arcade. I think they are pretty cute! Also, pretty fun to collect too. Currently, you can get three different versions of thee Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games from Super Impulse. Included in this fun collection is Whac-A-Mole (one of my favorites), Skee-Ball and TMNT Tiny Electronic Pinball. Since my youngest is obsessed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I now need to get him the TMNT pinball game.

Boardwalk Arcade Whac-A-Mole

Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games come with pre-installed so it’s ready to play right out of the package. They require 3 AAA batteries if you need to replace them. These games have a try me mode so we had to replace ours pretty quickly. However, with the new batteries, our Whac-A-Mole game has been going pretty strong for the last couple weeks without having to replace the batteries again. It gets played with quite often too. One of us is always trying to beat someone else’s score.

See how cute it is?! I think they are pretty neat. Anyway, the battery housing is on the back of the Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games. There is also an on/off switch which comes in handy for preserving batteries as well.

Fun Size!

These Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games are so small, they fit in the palm of your hand. How cool is that? Don’t let the size bother you because this little thing contains the full arcade game. Whac-A-Mole includes 256 game levels. The controls are simple. There is a directional pad and a red button. That’s it.

Getting used to playing it on such a small scale may be something some may need to get used to. It’s not so hard though. We found that it was easier to sit it on a tabletop like shown above instead of actually holding the game. It has a startup screen and records digital scores. We think that’s pretty cool because as previously mentioned, we all like to try to beat each other’s scores.

The Screen

These Boardwalk Arcade Mini Games obviously include a small game screen. The great news is that despite the screen size, none of us have had any issues seeing the screen. The screen is a high resolution LCD which allows for an easy visual.

Playing the Game

Playing the game is simple. You use the directional pad to move the mallet over the moles as they pop up and then press the red button to Whac them. Eventually you have to move quicker to beat the clock. I love it. It brings back memories of hanging out in the arcade on the weekends. Except now you don’t need quarters or arcade tokens!

Final Thoughts…

My family loves these Boardwalk Arcae Mini Games. Firstly, they are fun size. Secondly, they are fun to collect. Third of all, they contain the full arcade game and lastly, they are just simply cute! You can see some other fun games from Super Impulse on my Father’s Day Gift Guide!
